Checkout cleaning and the checkout cleaning forecast

What checkout cleaning is, how a forecast checkout differs from a confirmed one, and why the cleaning appears only after confirmation.

Published

Checkout cleaning is the cleaning of a room after its guest has left. It is created automatically from a confirmed departure — exactly one per cycle.

A checkout cleaning forecast is an expectation rather than a fact. The calendar knows the departure date and shows in advance which rooms are due to free up, and a housekeeper reads that forecast to plan their day. But no task is raised from it.

The difference between a forecast and a fact costs a cleaning a day. A guest who stays until the evening has, by the calendar, already left; a cleaning raised from the calendar would arrive at a locked door.

A person confirms the departure. A stay that has checked in cannot be cancelled after the fact — it can only be closed by a confirmed departure, and that is the same fact the cleaning starts from.
